| Evelyn O’Sullivan – the new Events
Industry Skillnet Munster link. |
| Having worked with the Events Industry Skillnet
for the past 2 months in the Dun Laoghaire office, I have now
left the Pale
behind and am established as the new EIS Munster rep (nothing
to do with rugby of course!!). |
 |
|
With many years experience of working in the Conference
and Events industry in Ireland, I know only too well how diverse
and demanding the role of an Event Planner/Organiser can be.
With this in mind I am very happy that the training courses we
have planned for Munster will be a fantastic help! The June training
dates have been set, see our training page for more and it’s
now down to me to get lots and lots of new members to come along
and attend the courses and show that the Events Industry in Ireland
is alive and kicking in Munster. There has been some great work
done to date in Dublin so I am very excited about having the
courses on our doorstep in Munster. So if you are working in
Munster and your job requires you to have skills in any aspect
of Event Planning, PR, Communications, Sponsorship, Sales, etc
get in touch and I will be delighted to tell you more about becoming
an EIS member and the full range of courses we have planned.

| Bi-Annual National Skillnets Conference 2008 |
| We were very excited to have been invited to
attend the bi-annual National Skillsnet Conference at Croke
Park on 7th May. |
 |
The theme, Real People, Real Skills, Real Business
was brought to life with a myriad stories highlighting the success
of the Skillnet program in different sectors.
Much was made, by all the speakers, of the current economic climate and how,
now more than ever, it was necessary to train in order to effectively compete.
Or as the keynote speaker, Anne Hearty of CPL Resources made clear, training
is not optional, it is necessary. If you want to know more about the conference,
the speakers or Skillnets in general, please visit the skillnet
site. |
