About the Events Industry Skillnet (EIS)

The Events Industry Skillnet (EIS) is a not for profit organisation and the ONLY training network for the events industry in Ireland. We are a dedicated team of events industry professionals who are committed to developing certification for employability and raising the standards of professionalism in the industry. We believe in personal and professional development, and the benefits of networking with others within the industry.

Angela Holland - Network Administration Manager

Angela Holland is an experienced conference organiser and administrator, having worked for the past 10 years with GE Money EMEA, the financial services business of the General Electric Company. Angela's expertise lies in her ability to produce first-class events for her clients.  She is intuitive to the needs of her clients and she has a keen desire to promote standards and training within the events industry.  Angela has organised corporate and social events in Dublin and across Europe on behalf of GE.

The role of the Network Administration Manager is to work with trainers, trainees, speakers and suppliers to co-ordinate courses, seminars, master classes and networking events for EIS members, as well as manage the reporting function bewtween Skillnets Limited and the Steering Group.

Alan MacStiofain  - Network Business Development Manager

Alan Mac has been working in the events industry for the last 8 years, as an event manager, programmer and producer. He is the Logistics Manager with the largest festival in the country – the Festival of World Cultures – and runs his own business as a promoter and producer of traditional Irish music and culture. Alan has worked with some of the industry’s leading professionals in event production and has a keen understanding of working with a wide range of organisations and personnel in the industry. The primary roles of the Nework Business Development Manager is to liaise directly with the members, promote the EIS and secure new memberships, inform the membership of upcoming course and ensure course places are filled, and feedback with the members to develop new training requirements.

 
About Skillnets

Skillnets is an enterprise-led support body dedicated to the promotion and facilitation of learning as a key element in sustaining Ireland's national competitiveness.

Skillnets supports networks of enterprises to engage in training under the Learning Networks Programme. These Learning Networks, now referred to as 'Skillnets', are led and managed by the enterprises themselves and have created and delivered training programmes across a broad range of industry and service sectors nationwide.

The Structure
The Events Industry Skillnet is a trading name of the Centre for Excellence in Events Ltd. The C4EE is a new company, founded by a number of people in the industry who are passionate about standards, training and professionalism in our industry. The C4EE currently houses the Events Industry Skillnet and is the Contracting Organisation with Skillnets Ltd for the purpose of administering the Skillnets grant aid.
 
The Steering Group
The EIS is supported by a Steering Group. This group of dedicated professionals within the events industry give their time, guidance and efforts to advise and assist the EIS and their members. The members of the Steering Group give their time and services free of charge on a voluntary basis. They are passionate about standards, training and professionalism in our industry. The Steering Group meet every 4-6 weeks, where they discuss new possibilities in training and network opportunities for members, set out goals and objectives for the orgainisation, receive reports from the Network Managers and look to the future and the development of the EIS.
